So when is it right to rebel? Some rebel against the established order, but offer little to take its place. Others rebel against the misery and injustice of this world and offer valid solutions. Be the right kind of rebel. Be the kind of young person who won’t be content with the hypocrisies, the cheating, the immorality of a world that often rejects God. But in your rebellion–in your uprooting of the evils and iniquities of contemporary society–replace them with integrity, reality, and God’s love flowing through your life. There is only one way to really do this–through the power of a close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. (Norman Love, Sr.)
Mission To make disciples for Jesus Christ by leading students into a growing relationship with their Savior.
Vision We are loving God and others by creating an environment where students are encouraged and equipped to make wise, biblical decisions through authentic, gospel-driven community.
Beliefs We believe in the unity of all believers who belong to Christ’s church. We believe salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, not by works, but by grace. A grace freely given to those who believe, so that we, as believers, may join in the work He has prepared for us (Eph. 2:8-9). We believe taking care of our personal relationship with God needs to be our top priority.
Values We value honesty in all circumstances (Eph. 4:25). We value being accountable, transparent and truthful to all of our students, parents, co-leaders and the surrounding community. We are to represent God to the world and draw the world to God.
Meetings are regularly held from 6:30-8:30 every Wednesday evening from September-May at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. Wednesdays usually involve a meal, a game, a time of worship and teaching, and small group discussion. There are also times throughout the year for more focused small group time, service and conference trips, and Bible study. The youth group is open to 6th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade.
